Letter from a Chocolate Villa Alumna

We received a letter from an attendee of our recent Open Enrollment Villa in Park City, Utah. We wanted to share it with you—feel free to pass this on to a woman you know who might be wondering what Chocolate Villa can do for them.

Dear Chocolate Villa Team,

I just wanted to write and say thank you for a truly life-changing experience. Chocolate Villa went beyond my expectations, and really opened my eyes to my own strength and capabilities.

Chocolate Villa came at a time in my life when I was in a deep period of questioning—questioning my career choice, questioning my abilities, questioning what I want to get out of my life. Throughout the week, as I worked to clarify my goals and gain a deeper understanding of myself, I felt like invisible chains were being lifted off my shoulders. It was hard work, trying to pinpoint specific goals and my wants and needs in life—these aren't little things! But the work was worth it.

I feel privileged to have met the five other smart, strong women who attended the Villa—Evelyn, Monique, Donna, Gabrielle, and Beth. I learned so much from them, and I feel like, in one week, they were able to see things in me that I have trouble seeing in myself. I love knowing that they are only an email or phone call away.

I've only been back from the Villa for two weeks, so it might be too early to tell for sure, but I wake up every morning feeling like I can rule the world. I jump out of bed and am not only ready, but excited, to start my day at work. I've regained the passion I used to feel for my career, and I've been much more aware of maintaining work-life balance, which has already made a difference to my family. I'm doing "power poses" every morning before I sit down in my office chair, and before big meetings with potential clients. I'm cultivating positive thoughts and repeating my mantra, "They are damn lucky to have me," whenever I feel under-appreciated, doubtful in my abilities, or frustrated.

I can't thank you enough for the experience you have gifted me with. It has changed the way I see myself, my work, and my life.

Women rule!

~Molly
